Limited Submission Reminder: Pew Scholars Program in the Biomedical Sciences
Key Deadlines: June 1, 2015 (CWRU internal letter of intent), July 15, 2015 (Institution formally nominates candidate), November 16, 2015 (Sponsor's submission deadline).
The Pew Scholars Program in the Biomedical Sciencesprovides funding to young investigators of outstanding promise in science relevant to the advancement of human health. The program makes grants to selected academic institutions to support the independent research of outstanding individuals who are in their first few years of their appointment at the assistant professor level.
Number of Applications Allowed: One application per organization.
Amount of Funding: $240,000 ($60,000 a year for four years)

Eppendorf & Science Prize for Neurobiology
The Eppendorf & Science Prize for Neurobiology
is awarded annually to one young scientist for the most outstanding neurobiological research based on methods of molecular and cell biology conducted by him/her during the past three years.
Rules of Eligibility
Entrants must be a neurobiologist with an advanced degree received in the last 10 years and not older than 35 years of age.
The entrant's essay must describe contributions to neurobiological research based on methods of molecular and cell biology.
The entrant must have performed or directed the work described in the essay.
The research must have been performed during the previous three years.
Employees of Eppendorf AG, its subsidiaries, Science and AAAS, and their relatives are not eligible for the prize.
Prize money: US$25,000

Department of Health and Human Services – Administration for Children & Families
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) solicits applications for the Competitive Abstinence Education (CAE) program. The purpose of the CAE program is to provide funding for additional tools to address the rates of teen pregnancy among adolescent youth who are at greatest risk of sexually transmitted infections and most likely to bear children out of wedlock. Program plans will focus on the social, psychological, and health gains to be realized by delaying initiation of sexual activity and engaging in healthy relationships. Grantees under this program will be expected to develop a targeted and medically accurate approach to reducing teen pregnancies through abstinence education.
